Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) for Seniors | People

Are you prepared for an emergency?  If not, then you should consider attending the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) training sessions.  The sessions are for Lakeland senior residents (55+), at the Lakeland Senior Center, 4523 Canada Road.

The CERT course provides participants with the training necessary for responding to disasters.

Classes are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. each Wednesday.  The dates for the next meetings are as follows:
September 26 Disaster Medical
October 3 Search & Rescue
October 10 Hazardous Materials
October 17 Disaster Psychology
October 24 Terrorism
November 7 Search & Rescue Scenario

All sessions must be attended to receive a certificate of completion, but people who can’t attend all the courses are encouraged to register and attend as many sessions as possible.

The training is for seniors over 55 years old and is open to all seniors within Shelby County. The maximum for the class is 30 students, so register now!
