TN Economic Development official to speak

TN Economic Development official to speak

Ted Townsend,  the regional director of West Tennessee for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, will be speaking at the annual free networking social for supply chain professionals on Dec. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi’s Parish Life Center, 8151 Chimneyrock Blvd.

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals hosts this annual free networking event, which is sponsored by Robert Half Technology. Professionals in multiple industries will attend and can provide free career advice, especially for those in a job transition. Refreshments will be provided.

Run with the speed of light through Starry Nights

For years runners, walkers and bikers have been able to enjoy Starry Nights up close and personal on Monday nights for just $5.  But this year, Breakaway Running and Shelby Farms are taking that experience to the next level.

They are introducing the "Starry Nights 4k".  It's a race through the Starry Nights display at Shelby Farms and it should be a blast!

There is a $20 registration fee and the money goes to help Shelby Farms Park and Shelby Farms Greenline, a resource many runners across Shelby county enjoy.

You will also get a glow in the dark shirt!

The Bartlett Historical Society will have their annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, Nov.18 and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Bartlett Museum/Gotten House.

The theme for this year is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and the Museum is filled with Santas of all sizes and shapes for kids and adults to see.

'Bartlett Cares' Holiday Food Drive

November 27 is the kick-off date for the 2nd Annual "Bartlett Cares" Holiday Food Drive, starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Bartlett Fire Station #1, at the corner of Stage and Altruia Roads.

The food drive runs until January 9, and you can drop off your non-perishable items at several Bartlett locations, including City Hall, the library, the Justice Center, and any of the fire stations, to name a few.

The food drive benefits the Mid-South Food Bank, and monetary donations are always welcome.

Starry Nights benefit Shelby Farms Park Conservancy

Starry Nights benefit Shelby Farms Park Conservancy

Come witness the tradition that is Starry Nights at Shelby Farms Park Nov. 23 – Dec. 28.

Over 2.5 million lights light up the sky in the Mid-South’s largest holiday light show.

This year, after viewing new exhibits, you can take a ride on a camel, visit the Starry Petting Zoo, take photos with Santa and visit the magical Mistletoe Village.

Mondays are closed to cars for Run, Walk, Ride nights to see the show on foot or by bicycle. 

The show will be closed on Monday, November 26 but will reopen on Tuesday, November 27.

At Mistletoe Village you can experience the magic of the holidays. Grab a cup of hot chocolate while you visit Santa, do some holiday shopping with local artisans, visit the Starry Petting Zoo and even ride a camel. Afterward, gather around a cozy campfire and roast s'mores while you listen to carols in the village.
