WRVR Toy Truck to benefit kids served by Porter-Leath | Events

For the 10th year, the WRVR Toy Truck, presented by BancorpSouth, will be stationed at Bud Davis Cadillac at 5433 Poplar Avenue from Monday, November 28, to Friday, December 2, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. to be filled with new toys and gifts for children served by Porter-Leath.

Porter-Leath is encouraging Mid-Southerners to consider purchasing a new toy or bicycle and delivering it to the annual WRVR Toy Truck Drive at Bud Davis Cadillac. The WRVR Toy Truck Drive benefits thousands of children and families in the Memphis area and ensures they are able to enjoy a wonderful holiday experience.

The event will be hosted by WRVR 104.5 The River morning show hosts Mike Montana and Mandy Morgan broadcasting the “Mike & Mandy Show” live on location and collecting toys and donations all week. This year, Santa will be at Bud Davis Cadillac for pictures each day from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 7 p.m. In addition, all BancorpSouth locations in the Memphis area and DeSoto County will serve as drop-off sites for Toy Truck donations.

Porter-Leath will accept monetary donations at Bud Davis Cadillac and all BancorpSouth locations. Checks should be made payable to Porter-Leath. Or, supporters can text “child” to 88500 to donate.

“Toy Truck is a very special event for us each year,” said Mike Warr, executive vice president of development and new business at Porter-Leath. “More than ever, we are hoping supporters are able to contribute what they have in the past to the Toy Truck. We know many families have had to cut back, but donating a toy or a bike ensures that your holiday gift is going to a wonderful cause. Through the support of partners like WRVR, BancorpSouth and Bud Davis Cadillac, thousands of children in Memphis are going to have a very special holiday.”

BancorpSouth locations participating in Toy Truck include those throughout the Memphis area – Bartlett, Collierville, Memphis, Millington and Oakland; two locations in Covington in Tipton County; and 10 locations in DeSoto County, Miss., including Hernando, Horn Lake, Olive Branch and Southaven.
