It's time to register for Memphis' new Dragon Boat Festival.

Interested companies and community groups have less than a month to field a team in the Inaugural Duncan-Williams Dragon Boat Festival in Memphis, benefiting the Tennessee Clean Water Network.

The event is Saturday, September 24, at Mud Island River Park. Teams race for prizes and raise money for clean water. Teams must register online at www.memphis.racedragonboats.com by September 2. Find out why dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world!

Dating back more than 2,300 years, the most fun, unique cultural event featuring adrenaline-pumping action, dragon boat racing grows in worldwide popularity each year, and is the eighth fastest growing water sport. Teams rave about the excitement, friendly competition and community spirit surrounding the sport. Companies and community groups choose their team of 20 paddlers and a drummer to race in authentic 46-foot long dragon boats with a trained steerer. All ages, skill levels and physiques can participate, making it the ultimate team building sport, requiring synchronicity and finesse, more than power to win.
