Bartlett Crime Stopper fund running low

Bartlett Crime Stopper fund running low

Crime Stoppers in Bartlett is asking for your help to keep their funding from drying up.

Crime Stoppers relies solely on donations and unfortunately, those donations have dwindled down to just $500.

They have reached out on the Bartlett Police Facebook page to get you to donate.

Lieutenand Todd Halford of Bartlett Police said they have used Crime Stoppers to find suspects involved in fraud cases or stolen credit cards.

Most recently, a call from Bartlett Crime Stoppers resulted in the arrest of Joe Caronna when he was spotted at a motel in Jackson, Tenn.

Since their posting on Facebook, they've already begun to receive donations.

Man arrested, accused of steroid manufacturing for third time

A Millington man was arrested for the third time under accusations of manufacturing, delivering and selling anabolic steroids.

Most recently, William Lucas was arrested after attempting to buy raw steroids in a Bartlett parking lot according to the police affidavit.

A tip was received that Lucas would meet John Boykin outside of a medical manufacturer Monday.

Lucas was talking to Boykin who was still sitting in his Ford truck when officers walked up.

The officers asked if any the two were engaging in illegal activity. Boykin and Lucas denied.

When officers searched the truck they found three silver bags that contained suspected steroids, and a black canister of 68 small vials of suspected raw steroids in the form of white powder.

They were identical to the steroids that Lucas had previously been arrested with early last year.

The steroids were taken to the TBI lab where samples determined it was in fact Schedule III Anabolic Steroids.
