Officials are launching a new initiative aimed at ending homelessness in Shelby County. While the plan’s goal is to eradicate homelessness in 10-years, volunteers are needed to do something right now.
On September 16 at the Memphis Fairgrounds, homeless people will be able to get everything they need in one place. The initiative, called Project Homeless Connect, will bring homeless people together with a number of service providers.
The decade-long plan was set into motion when the city council donated $250,000 to the cause.
