Lace up your sneakers and join Conrad Pearson Clinic and ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer on Saturday, April 28, 2012 for the Dash For Dad – Memphis. The half marathon and 5K race is part of the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge, America’s premier men’s health event series, taking place in 32 cities in 2012.
“More than 240,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year alone, including more than 4,900 in Tennessee,” said Skip Lockwood, CEO of ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer. “The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge raises funds that are critical for raising awareness and fighting the disease.”
The race will be headquartered in Cancer Survivors Park at Memphis Botanical Gardens. The half marathon course will take participants by the University of Memphis campus and will pass through Tiger Lane before returning to finish in the Botanical Gardens. At the eight-mile marker at Tiger Lane, the band Anthym will provide live music. The race will feature a Kid's Zone, post-race live entertainment from Landon Lane and the Ivories music, food and beverages.
Funds raised from the race go to prostate cancer research, education, and free testing. ZERO provides comprehensive treatment information to patients, education to those at risk, and free testing to at-risk men around the country. ZERO also works to increase research funds from the federal government to find new treatments and better diagnostic tests for this disease.

About ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer (www.zerocancer.org)
As ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer, we commit ourselves not only to reduce prostate cancer or alleviate the pain from the disease but to end it. We see a future where all men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer will be cured or manage their illness with good quality of life, with the support they need to minimize physical and emotional suffering and to cope effectively throughout their cancer journeys.
To accomplish our goal, we increase research funds from the federal government to find new treatments and we fund local grants to end prostate cancer through our national event series, the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. We conduct free testing through the Drive Against Prostate Cancer mobile testing program and educate patients, families and those at risk.
