Man arrested after parking lot shooting

MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) - A man was arrested after shots were fired in the parking lot of a night club Sunday morning, according to police.

Police arrived to find a man in a General Motors Yukon firing shots at a Ford Mustang occupied by at least four people in the Electric Cowboy parking lot.

A witness said that at least 60 people were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting. The witness also said several shots were fired.

Police followed the Yukon near the interstate and detained Jesus Ramirez. Ramirez told officers he had become upset and fired a couple of shots in the air while in the parking lot.

Officers recovered a Beretta PX 49mm handgun from the Yukon.

Ramirez was then arrested for reckless endangerment and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. The handgun was tagged at the 201 Poplar property and evidence room.

No injuries were reported.

Neighbors believe man living in foreclosed home

MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) - Some new Mid-South homeowners showed up to an unexpected visitor in their home.

Neighbors believe a man was living in a foreclosed home. Police were seen brining out a duffel bag that possibly belongs to the man Sunday evening.

The home has been foreclosed for more than a year and has been recently been purchased.

Neighbors saw a person who was inside the home taken into custody.

These homes are very expensive homes and people bought them on a the five year plan or the seven year plan, the balloons and walked away from it. They really weren't qualified to have the homes anyway so that's why I think we're seeing a lot this," said neighbor Nick King.

Bartlett police have not confirmed why the man was arrested.

Drunk driver reportedly crashes into police cruiser

BARTLETT, TN- (WMC-TV) - Bartlett police are asking you to think twice before you get behind the wheel and drive. They said a close call from early Thursday morning makes their point after an accused drunk driver hit a police cruiser.

Among dozens of pristine patrol cars, there is one with a bashed in the backside. It was parked directly in front of a Donald's Donuts early Thursday.

"And I'm like wow, you know... very bad," said donut maker Sokea Kong.

Kong pulled into work at 3:30 a.m., ready to make some sweet treats but first had to bypass a sour scene.

Moments earlier, two cops had been stationed with running radar, searching for speeders.

Police said a 2000 gray Honda Accord crossed all lanes of traffic and smashed straight into the parked cruiser.

Tyler Myers was arrested and charged with DUI.

Hobby store targeted by burglars three times

BARTLETT, TN- (WMC-TV) - Police are searching for the people who broke into the HobbyTown USA store in Bartlett three separate times.

The burglars were caught on camera on three different occasions stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Store managers say they gained entry by breaking out a window.

Manager Derrick Cooper says each break in was caught on surveillance tape but he is not certain each of the crimes were committed by the same group of people.

"Its possible and it's just really no way to tell," said Cooper. "Usually, they are wearing some type of hoodie so you don't get a good shot of facial features and that type of stuff."

The surveillance video was given to police to assist in the investigation. Store managers are hoping it will help identify the suspects.
