MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Police in Bartlett are investigating a teenager who said two strangers sexually assaulted her behind a Bartlett church after they followed her from a busy service station late Sunday night.

The 19-year-old woman told Bartlett Police she shopped at Walmart then put air in her tire at a nearby Shell station on Highway 64.

She then headed north around 11 p.m. on New Brunswick Road when she said a dark-colored sedan sped up and cut her off.  A man in the passenger seat got out with a revolver pointed at her and told her to get over.

Local writer qualifies to compete in 2010 North American Ultimate Tradesman Challenge

Local Technical Writer Qualifies to Compete in 2010 North American Ultimate Tradesman Challenge for Bartlett-area

Bartlett, TN [August 9, 2010] — When IRWIN® Tools, a world-class manufacturer and marketer of professional hand tools and power tool accessories, came to town with its 2010 Ultimate Tradesman Challenge, Robin Nielsen, a technical writer for 24 years who currently works with Aviation Maintenance, saw a chance to have some fun with his hard-working fellow tradesmen. Little did he realize, at the time, that he would win the local round of the skill-based competition, and be on his way for a chance to win $1 million!

The competition, which was held in conjunction with Southern Fastening Systems, challenges professional tradesmen to perform a series of precise tasks—such as gripping, sawing, marking, clamping and drilling—in a race against the clock. With a finishing time of 39.59 seconds, Nielsen bested all other local competitors and won an IRWIN tool bag packed with IRWIN tools, plus genuine Cat® footwear. Nielsen also has won an all-expenses-paid trip to Bristol Motor Speedway to compete in the North American Ultimate Tradesman Challenge Championship on Friday, August 20, 2010, during the weekend of the inaugural IRWIN Tools Night Race. Not only will Nielsen be treated to a VIP race weekend, but he’ll compete to become the North American Champion. If successful, he will win a year’s supply of Cat footwear and a custom IRWIN Tools Mustang GT Premium Pace Car – the official pace car of the IRWIN Tools Night Race Sprint Cup Series event. In Bristol, Nielsen will be competing against 22 other local-market winners, from more than 50 events such as the one in Bartlett.
