Store helping needy people get shoes

Shoe Carnival’s fall giving campaign has almost wrapped up.

The company is asking customers to donate one dollar to Soles4Souls, an international shoe charity, before the campaign ends on Oct. 26.

“For every dollar raised during the in-store promotion, Soles4Souls will send a new pair of shoes to victims of a natural disaster or those living in extreme poverty within the U.S. and around the world,” the company said in a written statement.

You can give a dollar at the register at each Shoe Carnival location in the Mid-South.

Our Towne joins Bartlett Chamber of Commerce

Staff, board members and ambassadors from the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) joined the management staff of Our Towne Magazine, at the BACC office located at 2969 Elmore Park recently to celebrate a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the business.

Our Towne Magazine is a new member to the Bartlett Area Chamber, and the ribbon cutting was held in honor of their membership in the organization. The company specializes in providing local event notification and advertising opportunities to area businesses.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was presented and hosted by the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce. The Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce represents over 650 businesses throughout Northeast Shelby County, the Greater Memphis Area, and in the city of Bartlett.

The mission of the BACC is to advance the long-term prosperity of Bartlett and Northeast Shelby County by sustaining and growing its business community.

Friends of the Library joins city chamber

Staff, board members and ambassadors from the Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) joined members of the Friends of the Library, at the Bartlett Public Library located at 5884 Stage Road recently to celebrate a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the organization.

The Friends of the Bartlett Library organization is a new member to the Bartlett Area Chamber, and the ribbon cutting was held in honor of their membership in the organization. The group exists to promote awareness and advocacy for the Bartlett Public Library.

Volunteer Saturday on “Make A Difference Day”

The Shelby County Office of Preparedness HLS/EMA, under the direction of Bob Nations, Jr., in conjunction with the Points of Light Institute, annually supports the "Make A Difference Day” initiative to promote civic engagement in our community.

Saturday, Oct. 23 is the day when citizens are invited to seek out opportunities to serve and contribute as they partner with government agencies.

This day is a reminder that individuals who volunteer their time, talent, and energy help strengthen and transform our communities as a whole.

Award winning folk duo coming to BPAC

Sign up for Race for the Cure

It's time to grab your running shoes and sign up for the Mid-South's Race for the Cure.  This year's race is scheduled for Saturday, October 30th.  The race begins at The Shops of Saddle Creek at the corner of West Farmington and Poplar Avenue in Germantown.

The Survivor Breakfast begins at 7am, with the 5K Co-ed Run/Walk and the One-Mile Family Fun Walk starting at 8:30am.
